This was surprisingly tricky. a lot of great movies have great fitting endings but it was hard quantifying what made a great ending.
these are the ones that I felt had the best impact. surprisingly only 7 come from my top 50 list from a few months ago so I had to dig deeper to fill out the list

1.) Paths of Glory
2.) The Bad News Bears (1976)
3.) The Royal Tenenbaums
4.) Stand By Me
5.) Dr. Strangelove
6.) Casablanca
7.) Good Will Hunting
8.) Dirty Harry
9.) The Godfather Part II
10.) Heat

I'm lazy and don't want to think of ten, but the first one that came to my mind was Burn After Reading. J.K. Simmons is so great.

Not necessarily my absolute favorites, but at least endings where I felt the movie really ended perfectly.

Donnie Darko (even though it's depressing as hell)
The Godfather (truly iconic, which is a kind of ending I feel the other Godfather movies lacked)
Sea Of Love (not my favorite movie, but the ending is fantastic)
Spider-Man 2 (Very upsetting, but dramatically brilliant)
Carlito's Way (I won't spoil it for you, but this one most definitely is one of my favorite endings of all time)
Final Destination (hilarious and frightening at the same time)
A Beautiful Mind (Beautiful, as the rest of the movie is)
2001 (The journey ends just the way I wanted it to. It has been criticized, but I thought it was amazing.)
The Voices (Hilarious!)
A Serbian Film (Some will love it, some will think it's too over-the-top)

1. Dead Silence
2. They Wait.
3. Puppet Master 3: Toulon's Revenge
4. The Simpsons Movie
5. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers
6. House of Wax
7. Wrong Turn 2: Dead End
8. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)
9. Amusement
10. Freddy vs. Jason

You should see the 50's version with Vincent Price. He's pretty cool at playing a villain.
I can't think of any reason I'd watch the 2005 remake aside of Elisa Cuthbert. And then already Paris Hilton is enough to put me off.

I'll will as soon as possible.
