US Politics (Office of the Former President Appreciation Thread)

that speech was a whole lot of nothing, he might as well have just went up there and said "i am the greatest!"

Honestly, 2016 has been really shit. And this is the poison cherry on the stale cake

I can't help but feel sorry for Barren Trump, being bought up with not only a terrible name but a dangerously powerful father.

I use this unironically, that poor, poor kid.

Yeah, sorry. That was the last one, I promise.

Last thing I'm gonna say in here is this:

The man is 70 years old or therabouts, he's probably going to resign a few years into the term if/when his age catches up to him.

hey before we let dumbasses like bomberswarm and Xaiv start shitposting, can we just take a moment to appreciate that no idiot Trumpeteer incited violence at a polling place today? The incident at Azusa was apparently unrelated to the nearby polling place, and I'm honestly just so relieved that everyone else around the country was able to stay safe. If nothing else, that's one thing America did right this year :usa:

Sorry to bring more bad news, but there actually were incidents. We'll probably hear about more tomorrow.

Several places are under investigation for voter intimidation.

Anyway, I'm just feeling so sick and scared not just for the country in general, but for myself, my family, my friends, and my neighbors. I'm frustrated and angry and I feel lost and broken, like I don't even know where to begin to prepare for this. Friends and family can joke about packing their bags for internment camps and deportation but I am so far away from any kind of mood where I can take dark humor.

oh jeez. I heard about the first one and was relieved that it was at least nonconfrontational (although still very shitty), but I didn't hear about the pepper spray incident. In any case, we seem to have avoided any serious injuries this election day, and at this point that's about the best thing I can hope for.

Ah yes lets celebrate the boarders goin "See people, I was right to support Trump !! Who is the piece of shit now !!!!"

UGH

just remembered that Obergefell v. Hodges and US v. Windsor are almost certainly gonna be reversed thanks to today's elections. I hate America

Called it as soon as he won the nomination. If people are stupid and terrible enough to get him that far, sky's the limit. Next time you have the faintest inkling that we're making progress as a society and that humanity deserves to continue as a species, remember today.
