The Venture Bros.

Hahaha, wow. Ridicularious.

"I had sex! I had sex with a woman, and... and nothing will ever be the same, because of sex!"
Loved the triumphant music playing in the background.

I haven't been this giddy about a show since back when The Simpsons was awesome.

I know krews are totally 3 years ago, but I'm down for a Venture krew.

Sex! SEX! needs to be used more as a running joke. AND THEN YOU WILL HAVE SEX. SEX!

I liked Brock's proud smile at Hank.

love how this show can do something stylistically different like a noir episode and keep everyone completely in-character.

excellent episode, definitely top 10 and maybe top 5.

i just wish Brock still had a more major role, he has been pushed back to almost as minor a character as Phantom Limb or Dr. Orpheous. I seriously think we have seen way more of Billy and White than we have Brock this season

He's just more interesting now. Before they just filled up time with Brockness Monster violence. Now that he has an actual real role to play he's not quite so apparent. He's more a part of the ensemble now. I enjoy it. Besides Conjectural Technologies deserves some limelight.

Agreed. I like Brock's new role, especially now that Sphinx has a bit part in almost every episode. Shore-leave and Gathers are like extension of his persona now.

Anyone else here get the uneasy feeling that 4.5 is going to end in tragedy? The finales seem to alternate between upbeat episodes and downbeat ones where someone gets killed and Brock loses his sweet mullet.

I agree. A little more Brock [and Monarch, personally] and a lot less of Sgt. hatred, would have made this season as strong as the 1st three.

I personally thought Brock's absence was a good move. Not having him around as a bodyguard provided some character development for Hank, and not showing what he's doing outside the compound made his return in "Pinstripes & Poltergeists" even more awesome. Yeah, I kinda missed Brock during those episodes, but so did Hank, so it made me sympathize with him even more.

I do agree that Sergeant Hatred was overused in the first half of season 4, although his screentime has thankfully been cut down in the second half.

and Monarch was overused in season 3, so it's nice they cut back a little on him...if anything just to show the competence of 21

He's got a knife!

...also, Nathan Fillion as the Spider-Man parody. :nerdbang:

Still waiting for tonight's but I have to say I definitely agree about Brock being pushed back to a more secondary role being a good thing. Honestly I think it's the best thing that's happened to the character, like Snips says as badass as he is and as great a scene where he hijacks the moving car is, it really was becoming redundant. That's one thing that thinking about it I really dig about this cartoon, how it seems willing to change certain gimmicks about itself before it gets too old. The clone storyline, Monarch being everyone's stepping stone, Brock killing people, 21 and 24, the order of the triad...it was all stuff the show was really known for but they changed it up or ended it, and now the brothers themselves are becoming more central again but it seems like their unaware stupidity is on its way out and I'm really liking the more sardonic Hank at least.

Last week's episode was a lot of fun for sure, not much more to say. I loved how everyone was so aware of the film noir motif but just wanted in because they were bored.

I do really want to see the asshole dimension one day.

Awesome episode, this whole run so far has been one great episode after another.

the shining bear ruled. good episode, a little light on laughs but glad to see a bit more dean.

meh... found this one pretty dull overall; not even close to the last two. but yeah, that weird killer bear was kind of hilarious.

Ah... didn't get the Lyndon B. Johnson reference. I knew going in that last week's couldn't be topped, but decent showing of the revenge society, even if it felt a bit like a rehash of the order of the triad's arching audition.

"Who disfigured you for life, and helped girl Hitler steal your throne? Who seduced your wife, then passed her off to his brother for sloppy seconds?"
