Strike information

  • The Writers' Guild strike has ended and the show's writers are back at work.
  • According to Michael Price, the first 12 episodes of the season (including 7 holdovers from production season 34) were put into production before the writers' strike and are not affected.

Extra information

  • The show was renewed for seasons 35 & 36 in January 2023. This brings them to 801 episodes. (Entertainment Weekly, Matt Selman)
  • Since Season 33, episodes showrun by Matt Selman have a "co-runner," which he defines as "the senior producer who creatively supervised that story from inception to air. (The co-runner's credit runs first at the top of the show they produced.)" (Matt Selman)
  • Matt Selman wants to do a couch gag with Jorge R. Gutierrez. (Matt Selman) [11/14]
  • Give Me My Remote: “I always liked the [season 7 episode] ’22 Short Films About Springfield,’” Selman says. “I said, ‘Can we do another one like that, but different? Not just cutting around [to quick stories about characters].’ [And] we actually have another one, sort of similar to that, in the works for next year.” [5/19]

Also @Dark Homer you forgot transfer known details for Homer's Crossing, A Mid-Childhood's Night Dream, and Do the Wrong Thing - writers/directors/table read date

And also I really like how you choose this color for the season in solidarity with WGA!

A new season thread? You know what that means...

Here are the Fox NFL doubleheaders for the 2023 season:
September 10, 24 (season premiere)
October 1, 15
November 5, 12
December 3, 17, 24
January 7

@Dark Homer, immense thanks for the time and effort you put in to maintain this resource season after season.

And sorry you also have to put up with pestering from one or two members of this forum...

Not sure where else to put this...the Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR race was moved to Monday because of rain, and Fox is ending its "pre-race" coverage at 7. Somebody who lives in the Eastern/Central time zones, could you check Fox at 7 & 8 Eastern to see what, if anything, Fox airs in its place?

My station's schedule shows:
7:00 - Don't Forget the Lyrics 2x01
8:00 - Beat Shazam 6x01
9:00 - Housebroken 2x08
9:30 - Housebroken 2x09
10:00 - "Regular programming will resume..." - Probably leftover from when the race was scheduled. I assume news will be airing at this slot.
10:30 - News

Also, there's this information from Wikisimpsons aswell. There is information I noticed from the site that wasn't on the initial post, unless its not really worthy information to put up there.

Come to think of it, a virus being spread through burps sort of sounds like a upcoming Treehouse of Horror for later this upcoming fall

Information that was found out from Twitter questions wasn’t included in the original message to discourage asking prying questions on Twitter in the future

Ah, that I understand. Still annoying thou that it isn't included, but that's just me. I'm the type of person that likes all the confirmed information to exist in one place, even if its just stuff that isn't nesseccary, not sure why, but I just do.

Also, not sure if its just my tipsy mind or not, but it is kinda albeist to do discourage those prying questions, given that people who ask those question could either be neurodivergent or have another disability. Like I said, that could be my tipsy mind thinking about it too much

I don't think it is. The crew aren't obligated to answer every question and there's something to be said about keeping things under wraps to maintain some surprise. What's more, they're people too and they have the right to dissuade questioning that might encourage incessant behaviour that borders on harassment. @HomerFan1998 and others might be neurodivergent, but that doesn't (and shouldn't) give them the freedom to badger members of the staff on Twitter.

However. Dark Homer also says that the "titles are out now," but so is the information about the codes, the staff, and the writers. He feels so strange now to ignore all the information on Twitter when it's already pasted on wikis. I mean, people already discussed stuff on Twitter ad nauseam, like the news of the SB episode being in production, and now we just have to sweep that info under the rug and pretend it doesn't exist anymore?

Yeah. The decision to discourage asking questions on Twitter is a nice one, but it also feels a bit too late; Didn't people also do the same for the incessant jingle of production codes? It feels so strange to just do anything against it, when things like this have been going on for years. Also, why was the Moe/Maya episode twitter question added but not the rest? It feels like a weird and arbitrary choice.

Nah, I get where you’re coming from with the ableism question. I personally don’t think discouraging Twitter questions in of itself is ableist. I think it’s a good move to keep the pressure off the staff and to stop the quite frankly obnoxious fighting on these threads. What I disagree with is the possibility of shaming people for asking the questions. We always kinda resort to the implication that everyone who asks questions on Twitter are entitled or annoying or making the lives of the staff hell, which is unfair to me. I agree that a lot of these people could be neurodivergent, so I think if we’re ever to get into these kind of conversations again, we should try and be a little more understanding and a little less “grr how dare these people harass the staff”. This isn’t to say we should encourage Twitter questions, we definitely shouldn’t, but there’s a fine line between discouraging and shaming, and I feel like that line’s been crossed too often

and now we just have to sweep that info under the rug and pretend it doesn't exist anymore?
I don't think anyone is suggesting you pretend it doesn't exist anymore. It's just not included in the OP here.

But then what's the point? The info is already posted on the other wikis, most of us who view these threads already know it and those questions have already been answered by the staff. For better or worse. But it's info that has already come to light, and it feels a bit inconsistent not to include it in the OP.

Besides. What will happen to those Twitter passers-by who don't belong here and who also ask questions on Twitter? Ok yes, we can start to set a limit for those who belong to this forum and ask those questions. I understand that. But we also had incidents like the one with Paigey; who also knocked on Price and Jean's door during Sideshow Mel's incessant jingle of questions.

It's not like Dark Homer's response to HomerFan's s34 thread was very kind either. Regardless of his track record here. He had the thread in a professional way and even bothered to add the links and everything. It doesn't matter what you think of him, but it wasn't necessary for him to take such a passive-aggressive stance either, especially since he reeks of overbearing behavior and wanting to stay in control.

I personally did not detect anything unkind or passive-aggressive about Dark Homer's closure of the thread. As I have reminded others in the past, tone can be hard to gauge on an internet forum and I would refrain from making such accusations. Your response here, however, is quite hostile and unhelpful.

As custodian of these threads over the years (not to mention as a staff member), Dark Homer has every right to maintain control over them until such a time comes that they delegate it to others. That is simple courtesy and respect.

I think it's imperative for people to realize that not only does the Simpsons creative team not owe us anything in terms of the information they choose to (or choose not to) parlay out via Twitter and their other social media accounts... but Dark Homer also doesn't owe us anything in terms of keeping this community forum up and running through no small amount of effort or expense.

This place could be shut down tomorrow if he so decided. I'm appreciative that he does not given what The No Homers Club has provided to the online Simpsons fan community as a whole since the early 2000s, but that would still be his prerogative.

So I would highly encourage that we don't take either him or this place for granted and to be respectful of any decisions he reaches. I don't see reason to consider any of them to have been overbearing or illogical.

OK, my 80 kopecks.

The only thing I was confused about this Twitter data transfering is that known already data was ignored. I understand Dark Homer at the moment decided "ok, stop - let's not include harsh gotten info", but if we already saw it in previous season info thread, that's a bit strange it's absent in the new thread😐. I mean the ban should be for all applicable data from the moment of decision, not taking the past - if the info was revealed we can not like "erase own memory because that was harsh gotten data". That won't change the past.

With that, I fully support Dark Homer's position:thumbsup:. He is administrator/owner of this thread, so he creates rules and "orders the music". Harsh against him is already rude.

In my view, if the staff just has no will to respond questions feeling some pressure, they just don't so💁‍♂️. I know, there are staff members who basically ignore any fans' "curiosity". After all there are "ignore this user" and "ban this user" buttons (I know how social media work).

Don't want to be seen as selfish, but months ago, seeing there is no good results actually, I refused of ANY questions to the staff and don't regret about it. Just do other whatever really important things in your life.😀

With all that, as @B-Boy said, that's just about opening post and the information is still information, but is just less/not noted on. And now "don't welcome harsging" is a written rule.

I said all.

Dark Homer's closing of the thread was pointless. Plain and simple. Even less so to remove information that is already known just because of the method of which it was revealed.

Questioning mod or admin decisions shouldn't be considered hostile. They may be running the forum, but they're not gonna make perfect decisions all the time. I've even encountered corruption on some forums, the worst being SpongeBuddy Mania where the main admin has gone out of his way to cover up a serious crime one of the mods committed.

Not to say that it's like that here, but discouraging members from giving site runners constructive criticism comes off as a form of censorship, like we are supposed to blindly accept their decisions no matter whether they make sense or not.

On a different note, I also take offense to asking members not to ask incessant questions being labeled as "ableism". As someone with autism myself I don't want people to flip out at me of course, but I don't expect them to coddle me either. Treat me as a human being, not a "special" being. I've had to be firm with people myself if they get too overbearing with questions or badgering since it stresses me out.

First, I do want to apologise if my previous post came off as rude, as after reading the posts since my previous post, and thinking about it more (not to mention having a more, clearer sober mind), I do understand where Dark Homer coming from, and also agree with him on not adding information due to pestering. Dark Homer is the owner of the site (which is something I stupidly didn't realize until now), so what he does is up to him, and he should be allowed to do so.

Thinking about it more does have me less annoyed that some information isn't there. Like I said in my previous post, I am the type of person that would add every single piece of information down, and a lot of that probably comes down to old habits from when I was in school.

I also said that I felt like it was kinda albeist, but thinking about it more, I was certainly overthinking it. The reason I might of thought that due to my own experience and from what I've been told by people (mostly people older than me) in the past in regards to my disability (which, for context, I have Chargesyndrome), & disabilities in general (not to mention the fact that I was born, raised & still live in a country that is rather slow when it comes to disabilities compared to other countries).

Whilst we're still on Page 1 of the Season 35 Information thread, can I politely request that everyone sticks to posting some god damn Season 35 information.
