Well, this was a good episode. Very good. A lot's already been said already. Bart was classic Bart, and his photocopying prank was hilarious! There was plenty of emotion along with humour. And the animation was simply brilliant, particularly the shading on the EFCOT Sphere, and the fireworks. Not the best of all time, but so far, the best of the EABFs.

5/5.

Very good. Skinner's mother was amusing, and I loved Homer's "Michael Jackson just told me to shut up" line.

Homer's pie song had me laughing like crazy, and I haven't done that during a new Simpsons episode in a while. Brilliant.

I swear one of the teachers near the beginning sounded just like Robin Williams.. did nobody else think this?

I've seen most of it before but it's been a long time so I'll have to wait to review this one.

One of the best Jean-era episodes. It could be in season 7 and still be somewhat above-average for that season. All characters feel like in the classic era, almost all jokes worked, the plot is very well developed, and there's good satire of Epcot.

Just re-watched it. It's alright, but I'm not quite sure what all the fuss about this episode was at the time of it's airing. It's still considered a post classic-classic but I'm not so sure. It's not a bad episode, and the first act flows very nicely and there's a lot of nice jokes throughout. However I feel the second half of the episode lets it down, they seemed to stage the teachers awards at Epcot just to cram in some observations that the writing staff felt towards the theme park. The proposal also seemed a little tacked on and over all so quickly.

Good episode, but not the 'amazing' episode people remember

On a side note, the real-life basis of the teacher who won the Teaching award because "math is powerful than bullets" (Jaime Escalante) died in May of 2010. :(

Normally stories about Edna and Skinner bore me quite a lot but this one is fantastic. Not once am I bored through out this episode when I decide to watch it. The plot is pretty simple but it's logical and very nice to follow. The Characters all play their parts very decently, especially Edna and Skinner.

The episode starts off perfectly even though the beginning is simple (having Bart with an unfinished essay on World War I). And It's also very enjoyable to see the Simpsons go to Orlando.

Agnes is also quite funny through out this episode especially when she complains about being sore after having arrived in Orlando:
"Seymour! Bring me some ice! My fanny is baboon-red after that car ride!

Season 14 continues when the Simpsons go to Florida....again! This time the family travels to Epcot after Bart nominates Edna for The Teacher of the Year Award. All the while the relationship between Edna and Seymour is being blocked by his mother. By the end of the episode Edna loses the award, but seemingly gains a husband as Seymour proposes, but as we'll see next year it isn't meant to be.

I feel conflicted regarding this one because I can't help but like it less knowing the two break up next season anyway. That really isn't fair to this one I know, but it just makes it so much less interesting to me in hindsight. I've never really agreed with the praise this one gets. The episode just feels boring too often and the best jokes are merely good like Homer escaping to Disney at the end or baby Grampa in World War I. I guess Little Richard's cameo was fun too.

When an episode is lite on laughs it needs a good story, but as I just mentioned I always feel like this one doesn't matter and it was pretty disappointing this rewatch. I just couldn't really be bothered to care what was going on that much. Plus I don't know why but at least the dvd version of this one has that really distracting coloring problem where the characters too often go from a lite yellow to a dark yellow. I'm too lazy to see if maybe this was always like this and just a problem of being one of the first digitally painted episodes, but it seems unlikely. It doesn't help me want to watch an episode that was already low on funny moments and has an ultimately unfulfilled plot though....I'll say 2.5/5, rounded up to a generous 3/5. I actually think I might prefer Geek Wedding to this one even if it destroyed the Seymour and Edna relationship. At least it had more memorable and funny moments.

Yeah, I noticed those problems also. The picture-quality regresses compared to the previous season, so I think it's because of the new digital approach.

I liked the whole Epcot-scenes though. Skinner sleeping in that bed next to the automatron is a delightful scene.

And maybe that's the aspect of the episode that I like the most. The Skinner-part of it all.
Skinner is one of the most human Simpsons-characters and that makes it easy to be empathic towards him, even in non-classic episodes.
I agree that 'My Big Fat Geek Wedding' was a very very bad way to end the whole Skinner-Edna romance. But I try to not think about that when I watch this one and it works for me that way.

i accidentally erased this when it originally aired, so last night was the first time i watched it. i'll probably need to watch it another time to fully soak it in, but it was definitely a strong episode. two standout moments for me was skinner wearing that shit-eating grin while doing the "walk of shame" across the stage, and the pie song during the end credits....yeah, there were "better" jokes per se overall, but those two parts in particular caught me off-guard in a good way. simple storylines always make for better episodes, it seems.... 4-ish/5

4/5 Very good episode. Skinner/Edna relationship was always fun to watch. Speaking of that, what happened to Flanders/Edna? Has that impacted an episode at all yet or was it just a pointless publicity thing?

I like the basic storyline, I guess. I hate how Bart now says things like "I don't want to hurt Mrs. K." The whole premise of this episode doesn't fit Bart's character. EDIT: This episode is better than I originally gave it credit for... 6/10

One of the best of season 14, while its not packed with laughs from start to finish it still has several laughs and the story and characterizations are great, some weak jokes but otherwise a great episode. Grade: A-

homer thinking Little Richard is Michael Jackson

the 'gay future car'

skinner proposing to edna

Great characterization across the board, except for Bart, who I found kind of out of character in doing all that for Edna and Skinner. Still, that can be excused. The jokes are great, and I especially liked the stabs at Disney. Excellent callback to "Do The Bartman" when Lisa says "What happened to the Bart who put mothballs in the beef soup?" referencing a line from the music video. I really liked Edna and Skinner getting engaged, but whatever happened to that? How'd she fall for Ned 8 seasons later? Still, I much prefer a heartwarming ending than a forced return to the status quo.

Great Krabappel episode, probably one of the best post-classic ones. 9.5/10
