An incredible, gag-laden, breakneck-paced episode with about 5 or 6 story ideas squashed into one. The only problem is barely any of the gags are good and the story blurs into one meaningless jumble as each part is dropped as it moves on to the next. The beginning at the Aquarium was lame and the central plot-line of Homer losing his licence and discovering the joys of walking is as lame as the story where he breaks his jaw and discovers the joy of listening. No. Twice as lame. Marge growing more resentful of Homer was interesting and the scenes at the psychiatrist were probably the best. The ending however was completely empty to me. To win Marge back Homer organizes a big party in his back-yard and invites all of the townspeople just like that (but not Flanders ho ho). There could have been some soul-searching, some struggle as Homer proves what Marge means but this seemed so casual, so effort-free, like he could have sent her some flowers and it would have meant as much.

The tone of the episode was overly wacky, it could have done with some grounding and I didn't really like most of the jokes. For instance the flying penguins, the mobile phone gags, the appliances for the car, Marge pouring food down Bart, Monty Burns' appearance. The song was terrible as well, I was glad when it was interrupted when Marge ran over Homer. The appearance of Steve Buscemi was stupid as well. "Oh look it's famous actor Steve Buscemi. He was in that movie Fargo. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA that's the joke". The funniest moments probably all happen at the psychiatrist's with the mirages and him suggesting a selfless act. "Full custody that's exactly what I meant".

A few of alright lines
Milhouse "I'll be a nurse shark... no, wait" [gets beaten up]
Moe "You're late for your drunkening"
Carl "Homer always brings us ice cream"

Some lines that bring it down
Moe "What you wearing"
Homer "Thanks for picking my friends up from the strip club"
Marge "Abe proposed to another hooker at the bus station"
Judge "Burn the poop"

Overall not very funny. It wasn't totally boring like other Season 14 episodes but the constant wackiness, jumpy story and shallow ending bring it down a lot 2/5

This is actually my favourite episode of Season 14. Hilarious and great ending! 5/5 (seriously)

Homer: "Marge... you're trying to hurt me!"
Marge: "What? Don't be silly! I don't like you! I mean hate you! Hate you, hate you, I HATE YOU!
Homer: "... I've heard that from co-workers, strangers on the street, even my own children. But I never thought i'd hear it from you, Marge."

^^
Comedy gold, isn't it?

I kind of like this episode's basic plot, even if the plot structure isn't that good. Homer develops his fondness for walking out of nowhere, and I hate the random appearances of the guest stars. But other than a few minor complaints, I don't have too much of a problem with anything here. 4/10

Pretty bad plot and characterizations but there are some good humor and the first act is pretty good. Grade: C+

Terrible, apart from a few gags that hit such as "whatcha wearing?" and the admittedly random and Family Guy-esque Dennis the Menace reference. The episode is too fond of slapstick rather than real, witty humour, and while I can see how some could enjoy that style of comedy (although I am not a fan, personally) all the fun of the episode gets lost when the writers decide to turn it into a fairly disenheartening marriage crisis (with lots of unlikable Jerkass Homer thrown into the process, such as when he names himself as his favourite person. For God's sake, Homer used to be a lovable schlub, not a hyper-zany egomaniac, which, as this episode exemplifies, is what the writers think he is now.) weemingly because they felt that the episode lacked a point so they put the wackiness on hold (but not really at all, given that Homer all of a sudeen gas tge monwy to host an elaborate garden party and hire Jackson Browne to rip off one of his own songs), and if that's the case, then it shows how stunningly ignorant they are of what made the show great, throwing together some cheap, shallow "emotion" while further betraying the characters in the process. Anyway, sorry for the tangent, but it's just such an annoying episode that I had to get that rant out of my stem (well, not literally "had to", haha) and on top of all that, the episode gets a far-less-than-solid

1/5, F. Try harder next time (except we know they won't, but that's a story for... uh, pretty much every Rate and Review thread after this one.)

Sorry for the double post, my last one went off the rails as much as this episode did when I decided to click the big, bold B up there. I really should have known better than to do that when I'm

using a phone. Stupid tiny post-writing thingyboxes... Anyway that's the last time I do that. :p

FOOTNOTE: I didn't learn my lesson. The first part of this self-contradicting post was a leftover from the last one when I did God knows what to screw it over like with the first one. Also, sorry for my poor spelling in my first post in this thread. It was a combination of my fast typing skills and those stupid small typing boxes again... mostly the latter, though. :p

what i liked:

-Homer not going to the dry cleaner in Springfield

-"Get in here, Boozy, you're late for your drunkening."

-Homer's "I like to walk" song

-"I have to help her. If Marge isn't happy, I'm not happy. And if I'm not happy, Moe's very happy. But for once, this isn't about Moe."

-the ending

good jokes here and there. 3/5

An episode with various narratives, the opening is average, the aquarium scenes aren't that funny but the designs look nice, the story with Homer finding a love for walking is an interesting concept at least, if a little bit out of character, but of course the rest of the story is just an awful marriage crisis saga, I blame this episode entirely for all the awful awful episodes we've had in the recent years which have shown Homer and Marge in a marriage crisis and then eventually Homer always performs an action for example in this episode he throws her a banquet, which then Marge deems this to be enough for her to forgive Homer for all his shortcomings. I'm always on the side of Homer in these stories as at least he's making an effort to set things right whilst Marge just complains about how awful their marriage is etc. The forgiving scene is cheap and tacky writing which I despise, the only time a marriage crisis episode worked was "A Milhouse Divided" becuase Homer wanted a fresh start, not forgiveness. Average begginning, decent middle, pretty deplorable ending 4/10

bad episode...the plot was weak and not very interesting...Marge driving everyone and Homer liking to walk, yeah not that interesting to say the least...another marriage crisis where Homer needs to win Marge back...poor cameo appearances, some bad jokes/gags like Homer in the video store (really bad) and Bart getting beat up in the aquarium, Homer with the added car accessories and giving out the black power salute...too many of the jokes/gags didn't land...i thought the ending was maybe the best part of the episode honestly, if a little cheesy (really liked the Sea Captain's dialogue with Marge)...very surprised this did as well as it did on the poll...not only one of the worst in season 14 but it's up there for me as one the weakest episodes that i've ever seen honestly...again, uninteresting plot with few laughs...like a 1.5 or 1.75/5 (i don't give out 0/5 or really even 1/5 for Simpson's episodes fwiw)

This episode is probably one of the absolute worst I've ever seen. It's not too memorable, and barely anything happens once Homer loses his license. Afterwards, the episode goes into sleep mode until it becomes yet another marriage crisis episode. But that's not the worst part for me.

The worst part is that Marge is subconsciously trying to harm Homer, Homer does absolutely nothing wrong, and she doesn't get punished. The episode has the AUDACITY to act like Marge did nothing wrong whilst at the same time, trying to justify her actions by basically saying "Uh, well, Homer did do worse things to Marge, so she's justified."

Good lord I hate this episode. 0/5
