It was an okay season. There were ups and downs, some As sprinkled in there. It started fine, but then steadily went down until the midpoint of the season with Lisa the Drama Queen, which was the low point. It then went up and redeemed itself, all the way up until "Father Knows Worst"; then it started to waver again. Pretty decent for the era. The DVD was absolute shit though.
 
This season has no truly terrible episodes, but most of the episodes are far from what I would call good.

One of the writers already mentioned it while taking about THOH XIX.
 
I actually thought he was referring to the "super gay" line. I don't really remember, I haven't read it in awhile.
 
Neither have I but from what I remember he thought she had some funny line readings or maybe new dialogue as Sally-Lisa that were cut and would appear on the eventual DVD re-release.

Man I hate this season. There seems something seriously wrong about the delivery, particularly once the HD episodes begin. About the only things I don't mind are the storylines. A couple episodes stand out from the rest, but that's about it.

One of the best seasons, if not the best season of the AL Jean era.

After the movie seasons 19 and 20 always felt (to me) like everyone involved in the show was reinvigorated and that they were actually trying again.. but then season 21 had to come along.
 
Getting my reviews of the entire series done slowly but surely. I rarely fail episodes. U gotta do something really good to get an A or A+ also.

This season isint horrible but its still rather medicore too bad, dull episodes mainly.

Lisa The Drama Queen: 3/5 (Underrated, decent story, sorta boring but i didint almost fall asleep under it like with a lot of other episodes in recent seasons)

How The Test Was Won: 2.5/5 (Pretty stupid but it was funny enough in order too be saved from being a disaster)
No Loan Again Naturally: 2.5/5 (Another pretty stupid episode but with enough humor in order too save it)
Gone Maggie Gone: 3.5/5 (Great animation and the story is good aswell its sorta lacking in humor but it atleast it kept my interest)
In The Name Of The Grandfather: 1.5/5 (Stupid "Simpsons go on vacation episode)
Wedding For Disaster: 1.5/5 (Another BORING episode)
Eeny Teeny Maya Moe: 4/5 (Best episode of the season, decent story and humor, dissapointing ending and the subplot could had been better but they dont really ruin the episode that much)

Father Knows Worst: 1/5 (Homer acts like a retard through and its loaded with dumb wacky gags)

Coming To Homerica: 2/5 (Not as bad as some have found it but it was still pretty weak)

I like season 1 more than season 20, but 20 is still a very strong season. There wasn't any episode that I outright disliked, although some were mediocre. It had a lot of good episodes, though, and I can see why you'd call it your favorite season.

A improvement over season 17-19 but not as good as the early Jean seasons.
 
There seems to be a lot of hate for 'Lisa The Drama Queen', and I agree. Out of all of the seasons this seems to be played the most.

Eeny Teeny Maya Moe: 3/5 (Don't dislike this one, they tackled a social issue, and for once in a modern Simpsons episode, it wasn't tone deaf and terrible)
The Good, the Sad and the Drugly: 4/5
Father Knows Worst: 3/5
Waverly Hills, 9-0-2-1-D'oh: 4/5 (Bart and Lisa have good chemistry as characters, and they use it fairly well here)
Four Great Women and a Manicure: 4/5 (Not bad, I liked Maggie's bit)
Coming to Homerica: 3/5 (meh, South Park already tackled immigration with much more satisfying results)

Overall it was pretty average, some great episodes, but also some dreadful ones.
