Shut the fuck up. It's completely obvious how bad this episode is.

Listen I'm not saying he can't have his opinion but I have the right to tell him what I think of his opinion, especially when it's completely wrong.

Hmm, well, you just demonstrated such actions. And no, nothing is wrong, nor is anything correct when it comes to something that can't be supported with rock-hard facts; not opinions. Fact. Just because the majority sways to one side does NOT mean that someone else can't perceive it in another way. I doubt your conservative mind can comprehend that, but if it can, congratulations!

I'm not conservative in the least bit you ignorant bastard.

Obviously opinions are not cold hard facts. But if I was to say that in my opinion George W Bush was a better US president than FDR, wouldn't you say my opinion deserved to be challenged and was also incredibly hard to agree with?

Yeah, but that's not the same as saying opinions are wrong. Just... choose a better word next time. Grazie.

I probably wouldn't have had a problem with your post in the first place if it wasn't a clone of the post in the Last Simpsons Episode thread. I mean, once is enough if you're going to do that at all.

Riviera - This doesn't concern you.

It doesn't? Last I checked, you just told him to "Shut the fuck up." I don't know about anyone else, but that's more than enough reason for retaliation. And really, all you're doing is flinging out swear words in attempt of inflicting damage on us. Well, sorry to break it to you, but simple cuss words with an absolute lack of support behind it does absolutely nothing and makes you look even more of fool than you already are.

I told you to shut the fuck up, not him. You are the fool here and even more than the time you decided to make your 'ban thread'

... you quoted him in your thread. Get your goddamn facts in order.

And again, with your second reply, another condescending assumption. I do cuss, but I choose not to because unlike you, I make my arguments with fact, not annoying babbling "O FUCK U. IM RITE, UR THE FOOL NOT ME." Really, that's how you come off as. And even after the discussion in that thread, you STILL miss the point.

You called me a conservative. I'm not a conservative. My grandfather was a socialist, my father is a socialist and I am a socialist. Therefore, you do not use facts. You invent lies in order to make yourself feel better or do give you some kind of self satisfaction.

Funny you should accuse me of that, with this hypocritical reply. And not in a political sense, idiot. You're conservative in that you don't like to see things in any other way than your own. I don't invent lies, I just don't bow down to arrogant people like yourself. As I've stated TIME AND TIME AGAIN, YOUR OPINION IS NOT GOLD. I swear, you're a fucking brick wall.

I didn't say my opinion was "gold". I only stated my disbelief at his opinion in this particular occasion. I didn't say "Someone ban him because he is so outrageously wrong". I just thought his opinion of those 2 respective episodes was wrong but he has the right to disagree, this is a forum isn't it? I didn't insult him or hurt his feelings.

I give it a 2/5. The 3rd act is pretty bad, but the rest of the episode isn't as bad as some of the episodes that've been produced in recent years.

Well it seems this thread had quite a little squabble earlier...I am in the process of deleting the off topic/fight posts over the past page or so. I may have to do some more cleaning up in here in the future....

I LOVE the commentary on the episode, you can hear how regretful Tim Long is.

He makes jokes about it, but you can tell how stupid he feels for writing this garbage

Greetings, NHC. I'm your host Le Jake, and we have a special guest tonight...the guy who wrote one of the most controversial episodes ever, Saddlesore Gallactica, and he'd like to share his thoughts with you!

I have to say...I like this episode. Really like it, in fact. First of all, it's very funny. For example, I know that the jockeys being revealed as elves is widely hated, but I found it hilarious, and all the references to previous episodes by Comic Book Guy that only hardcore fans would get.

LE JAKE:
That's great Mr. Long...so what are your favorite bits from this episode?

Tim Long said:
There were also some extremely quotable lines, such as "I'd rather let a thousand guilty men go free than chase after 'em" and "Hey, I'm a pretty lousy president." I also loved the character of Duncan/Furious D. I usually don't care for giving animals overly human characteristics, but in this episode, he was human enough to be cute and funny, but still animal enough to be believable at times. I was very satisfied with the ending

LE JAKE:
Are there any episodes you tried to not emulate?

Tim Long said:
The episodes like Lisa the Iconoclast, Separate Vocations, and Lisa on Ice have endings that leave a sour taste in my mouth, but this episode had a great conclusion. Homer didn't cave into pressure and purposely lose the race, and even Clinton showed up and awarded Lisa her rightful award. The only complaint I have about the episode is that there are some places where Homer is a jerk, such as when watching the concert, but other than that minor quibble, it's a very strong episode that's among my favorites of season 11.

LE JAKE:
Well, thank you for your time, Mr. Long and we hope to hear more from you soon.

Not that bad, if you don't give a shit about realism. 3.5/5.

Hello everyone...this is my first post! And it is to say that I hate this episode! Well, I don't actually "hate" any Simpsons episode but this is one of my least favorite ever. Definitely in my bottom 5. Tonight on tv I got stuck with this episode and "The Simpsons Spin-Off Showcase"...needless to say I was crying in the fetal position by the end of the night

Season 11 continues when Homer and Bart are attacked by evil jockey elves! But first the Simpsons are going to the State Fair so that Lisa can participate in a band competition. She ultimately loses and decides to complain to President Clinton...more on that later. After the contest the family decides to rescue a diving horse and race him. He loses initially, but is transformed into a badass winning machine. This earns Homer the wrath of the jockey elves! The episode ends....eventually.

Likely one of the most controversial episodes of the Scully Era and...I am embarrassed by it. Hate on the horrendous jockey elves in act 3 all you want, and they are horrendous, but my least favorite moment in this episode is President Clinton's involvement. I happened to catch the end of this one in syndication 5 years ago, maybe more, and my father watched it with me. As huge Clinton supporters I had forgotten this moment came up...he was not amused to say the least and I was pretty ashamed of the episode. It is rare that I feel that bad about an episode of this series even now.

I realize that is likely a shallow reason to dislike something but the shame/embarrassment I felt then is probably still the strongest emotion/memory I have regarding this episode. Homer's two thumbs up to Lisa and Comic Book Guy are the only two things I remotely enjoy here. The rest is either boring or ridiculous. I like wackiness as much as the next guy but it just didn't work for me here and I guess that can be said of the entire episode really. This probably isn't the worst of the season but it comes close for me, 1/5.

this would probably be typical simpsons 50 years from now, overhauled with different writers & voice actors, none having seen more than 15 minutes of all the "classic" seasons combined. all 'saddlesore' needed was the harlem globetrotters (without the "wink, wink" factor ala 'futurama') and possibly bigfoot & this episode would've been complete. 1/5

"that's my third monocle this week, i simply must stop being so horrified."

i gave it an A+. (and i already expressed most of my love for this here.)

Can't believe I'm saying this... but I've almost become accustomed to this episode. I've seen it many times, and with this episode being infamous as the "jocky elves" episode, I can't help but just... accept it making no sense at all. Had this been the first time I had seen this episode, I probably would have hated it (like last time). But now I've sorta just got used to the jockey elves being there even if it's in the same tier as that talking bar rag.

I still find the episode pretty empty though, even if I don't hate it. Apart from a few isolated gags, this episode is memorable for all the wrong reasons and I don't get any satisfaction out of watching it. It's just a lot of crazy shit that ultimately doesn't really matter. So this episode still gets a 2/5, and the label "bad", but only because I've seen it so much.

C-/D+

WHAT?!?!?

The elves were funny because they were so out of place. It's much funnier if you don't call it canon,
