What were the ratings during the classic years? I know the first two seasons had the highest ratings of the whole entire show, but I want to know how 3-9 did in TV ratings.

I believe seasons 1-11 are measured in total households, and seasons 12-24 are the total viewers.

Season 24 had approximately 57% (or 4/7) fewer viewers than season 12.

However, during season 12 there were far fewer people accusing The Simpsons of overstaying its welcome.

which episodes are the classic ones? I always think of it as being brilliant up to the very disappointing ''The Simpsons movie'', and it's been going downhill since than.

Most consider them to be around seasons 2 through 8, give or take a season. I love season 9, though.
