I'm defining "classic era" as the first eight seasons (although some will disagree I'm sure).

I'd say either "Dancin' Homer" or one of the clip shows that wasn't "The Simpsons 138th Episode Spectacular".

In terms of forgettable where an episode is difficult to remember, I'd say Much Apu About Nothing

The Springfield Connection and Dog of Death
The end of the second and sixth seasons, the middle of the fifth season and the entire second season are all mostly forgettable, but still good.

Couldn't say which is most, but for me, some of them are

Much Apu About Nothing
Radio Bart
Dog of Death
The Canine Mutiny
Homerpalooza
Season 1 and most of Season 2 (lack of "Play All" feature contributes to these; yes, I am lazy.)

All are good enough episodes (with season six and eight's being really good episodes) I only listed these as there's at least one episode each season I usually forget about which doesn't mean they're bad, maybe the plot's just a little dull and it just merges in with the rest of the season not standing out much...
