How should The Simpsons have handled the Apu controversy?

it's a bad argument because it's diminishing the points this one Indian had against the character in the argument. It's like saying "yeah sure some Simpsons fans don't like the Scully seasons, but that doesn't speak for all Simpsons fans". it's disingenuous, and a bs way to disregard points made. hope you are happy dismissing arguments in such a lazy fashion.

this is where I go back to
just say you dont care if apu is insensitive so we can end this

I already know you dont care
because there's only two options here, either you a)are such an uber dork simpsons fan that the thought of a character on the show changing really gets your panties in a knot(despite numerous characters changing over the course of the show to the point where they are no longer recognizable, but hey), or b)anything to upset and defy the liberal millennial snowflake cucks. I don't even consider myself liberal, that label disgusts me, but when I have to take the side of this character being a problem I will.

how about none of the above and it's changing the character for in my opinion the wrong reasons if for example they want to make ned flanders barts new teacher i would be fine with it changing characters because of what i see as flimsy reasons rather than the writers themselves making that choice and again that doesn't make me an idiot/dork/lying /dont get it/ etc remember just because i disagree with you doesn't make me wrong and an idiot

option a

That is not at all the same situation. Like at all[/QUOTE
IN YOUR OPINION it isn't. in my opinion and others with a similar opinion/point of view yes it is just because i have an opposite viewpoint to yours (that couldn't be more obvious) does not make you and others like you right and me wrong and that i just dont "get it"/racist ect again different opinions your free to have yours just like i am mine

So you're actually saying, stated above in your own words... Flanders becoming Bart's new teacher = changing Apu because of a racial stereotype

How does that make sense

it’s just my opinion that flashbeagle is not the smartest bulb in the knife drawer your free to have your opinion just like I am mine

imagine being this fucking dum hahaha, Jesus

Again, I don't see this as a conflict though if there should be a solution I say simply just keep them in the background. They are still there just not being used. A drawing of them by themselves in a crowd cannot be troublesome.

Okay sooo... your point is? Regardless of "editorialising" or whatever you're pulling out of your ass, Groening still said the same thing. It changes nothing

Hank Azaria on Apu three years ago (i.e: Well before all this really kicked off).

And Azaria talking about the subject last week.

Mike Reiss talks a little about Apu here.

From what I can tell, no-one can remember for sure who's idea it was for the character to be Indian. It certainly wasn't Reiss, and I don't think it was Azaria either. It might have been Sam Simon, but I genuinely think that none of them can remember anything other than "it was funny at the time."
