So, I did originally plan to do something else here to celebrate Pride Month, but I'll wait and do next year, as June has been a rather, surprisingly crazily tense month for me (mainly due to Opera GX messing up, and wanting to focus on watching many TV series).

Anyway, instead, I will do a poll asking which everyone's favourite LGBTQIA+ couple is? And also, what honourable mentions do you have?

You might of noticed I didn't include some notable ones, either because:
- I don't know about them as I haven't seen the show (example would be The Dragon Prince)
- I don't know enough about them (again, The Dragon Prince is the example)
- I don't feel like they appeared much (Korrasami from The Legend of Korra & Nigel Ratburn x Patrick from PBS's Arthur)
- I don't really feel like they would get votes (Clyde's Dads from Loud House, Lime Chiffon's Dads from Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City, Ham x Crispin from The Great North, Benson x Trevor from Kipo: and the Age of WonderBeasts, Bumbleby (Blake x Yang from RWBY), any of the Simpsons LGBTQIA+ relationships, with the two I had in mind been Julio x Grady and Patty x Evelyn)
- Or because they are kid characters (specifically any characters under the age of 13/14) (Stacks x Kelsey from Craig of the Creek & Craig x Tweak from South Park).
- And of course, Background/Ship Teases/Headcanons aren't counted either, which is annoying when it comes to Miraculous).

I also decided to choose one per series, which is why there is no other Owl House or She-Ra ships in the poll.

I'm going to have my vote be Lumity.

also, regarding the last option, I meant to say that please say if you want to, tried to edit but couldn't, so apologies for that

Since when does Ham have a boyfriend I've only seen very little of that show so I thought it was interesting anyway Clyde's Dads are fun characters I always like seeing them make an appearance Episodes like Snow Way Down and Runaway McBride give them a great time to shine

Silly answer: gumball x hot dog guy
Serious answer: raj x Shawn
Wish they had more scenes answer: Becker x kennedy
Why aren't they on the poll answer: sam x luna

Me and my girlfriend /j
To be honest I feel kinda bad that despite me being in the LGBT+ community and being attracted to all genders, none of the media I'm into really have that many queer relationships.
I do have my ships like Liko/Ann in Pokemon Horizons, but I'd say my favourite canonical relationship is Susie/Noelle in Deltarune.

Technically they're not together yet, but they have shown that Noelle likes Susie and imo hinted that Susie probably feels the same way.
Also my girlfriend loves Bubbeline a lot, she retweets Bubbeline art and we sometimes post gifs of it to each other! It's really cute, I've never finished Adventure Time so I never saw it in show too much, but I'm sure I'd love it :)

I get it dawg.
I realized last year I've been gay this entire time (by which I mean my life), and I can't think of a single CANON m/m pairing I like. 🤣

All my TF2 ships are non-canon. Even though the fandom almost unequivocally agrees that Medic/Heavy are gay, there's no canon proof.
My silly Simpsons ideas are all non-canon of course, despite their viability.
I appreciate a lot of Steven Universe couples but I can't think of a canon MLM one.🤔

I mean, King Julien/Maurice (his advisor and best friend) isn't canon....
But they once sung the above gay bromance song that won an Emmy (!), regularly say "I love you" to each other (sometimes while crying), get jealous when the other guy likes someone else more, and would LITERALLY die for each other (i mean willing-to-fall-down-a-cliff-to-save-the-other-in-a-really-emotional-moment die). So it's definitely ship-coded, but still not canon because KJ is too busy dating ladies who want to kill/overthrow him and the writers are too chicken to make them kiss.🙄

I do like the time bisexual icon Bob Belcher awkwardly flirted with the turkey dealer.
That was amazing to see on primetime television.

And the time Johnny Bravo seemed intrigued to be on the Island of Beautiful Men, IN THE PILOT NO LESS!

But these aren't canon couples either. :|

STUMPED.
No clue why I can't think of a single canon MLM couple that aren't ice-skating anime boys.
(No shade to Yuri on Ice, I've never watched it.)

But clearly there needs to be more grumpy-middle-aged-men couple representation out there.
Edit: oh and make one or both of them trans men while they're at it 🫡

Maybe I'm wrong and they do exist?🤷‍♂️

I don't know if Olivia and Yunan from Amphibia is one of my favorite couples but I believe they deserve a mention. They had such a fun chemistry. Originally I wouldn't have suspected this much they'd become an official couple before some of the last episodes hint it and the very last episode confirms it, but the upside is, it allows their dynamic not to rely too much on opposites attract and romantic scenes. For some reason that makes the two of them even more charming in this context.

Tweek and Craig from South Park do make me smile a bit because even though they are kids and I don't ship kids anymore, it's like the one wholesome thing that actually happened in that whole bizarre show. I enjoyed the episodes centered around them and their appearance in Fractured But Whole.

I'll always be a fan of Haruka and Michiru from Sailor Moon, one of the first LGBTQIA+ I probably ever saw on TV even if they tried to tell me they were cousins. If not them, then Willow and Tara from BTVS even though that ended in a horrible trope. Korrasami yeah we didn't get to see much of them thanks to the network. It made me happy, though and I could see it coming a mile away unlike others who said it wasn't built up (compared to her straightships, I would say it was far more organic). At least the comics exist. And I do like Bubbeline a lot. When I was much younger, I did like the couple of Spencer and Ashley on South of Nowhere, too.

David and Keith from Six Feet Under aren't necessarily one of my faves, but they are one of the first pairing of men I saw on TV so they deserve a nod. Same with Leon (RIP Martin Mull) and Scott on Roseanne. I love the ep where they get married. Both couples had lots of ups and downs (which is realistic for some) but ultimately stuck through everything together and loved each other. Bill and Frank from The Last of Us show was so insanely brief...but one whole episode dedicated to them conveyed so much love in whatever time they had left.

Sadly my fave couple is only headcanon because they teased it relentlessly and there was no way they would ever pull the trigger which is Xena and Gabrielle on Xena: Warrior Princess. Even as a kid, I KNEW they were meant for each other and by the end, they are clearly shown as soulmates even in the afterlife. Didn't matter how many men they slept with, how much the writers loved Ares, or how many screwed up kids they had (no offense to their screwed up kids). Xena and Gabrielle are 4 life. Alternative headcanon couple for almost the same reasons (teased a lot, network had no balls to do it): Kara Danvers and Lena Luthor from Supergirl.

I didn't even think of them, probably because them as a couple was such a minor part of the show and happened really toward the end, but I really liked their camraderie as a duo and the characters themselves were always entertaining, especially Yunan. Certainly a good pick.

Korrasami may not get much screentime, but in the (canon) comics continuation they get lots of page time. The first comic literally opens on them having a cute couple vacation in the spirit world and it's magnificent. It opens with the kiss the show deserved to end on.

Most of the media I love with canon queer couples that I actually love together tend to be books. There are things that aren't canon (not canonically a couple or not canonically queer or both) that I love, but I have a hard time remembering couples from TV and movies that I love, especially since the focus here seems to be animated couples.

Ruby and Sapphire's dynamic is more nuanced than a simple ownership or power imbalance. Initially, Ruby was assigned and hired as Sapphire's bodyguard, yet their relationship evolved significantly after they fled to Earth. They quickly found a mutual respect and partnership, where they stand as equals in their shared journey and adventures together.

I really like Cleopatra x Frida Kahlo in Clone High, super cute

Was thinking of 'Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' and recalled Hypno-Potamus x Warren Stone (a pairing I almost forgot about). I liked those two guys (I think I enjoyed all their episodes) and how their friendship-turned-relationship was portayed & developed in their episodes (and they clearly became a couple during the series; the show didn't use the word "boyfriend" but they did use affectionate terms & expressions and there's an episode named 'Warren & Hypno, Sitting In A Tree', so yeah), Also nice those two were picked to appear in the movie.

Kinda feels like a bit of an underrated/overlooked gay couple from modern TV animation (let alone a kids' show), but I guess others take more of a precedence and this one is a bit more on the more or less obscure side.

I should check out Rise, 2012's the only TMNT series I've seen and tbh I only remember some of season 1

I honestly think the answer might be Akbar and Jeff.
Bro, why are you absolutely correct. i can't believe I'm saying this, but these buffoons are actually the best gay rep I've seen, despite the fact that they are apparently mysterious clones or doppelgangers or something.
This makes me want to get a Life in Hell compilation.
Thank you Matt Groening and his friend that drew all these demented Charlie Browns with him.

Ruby x Sapphire. Sapphire didn't literally own Ruby. Ruby was assigned and hired as a bodyguard. The power imbalance has not impacted their relationship at all considering they almost immediately ran away to earth and became equals.
Yeah, they fell in love because they connected on a spiritual, human gem level. It was much deeper than any power imbalance. And it blossomed into a really healing relationship for the both of them. They kept growing through conflict and even took time apart to be able to reconnect again. SU was a great show.

It's weird, I like Garnet, I think Stronger than You is one of the best songs in the show amongst a very strong line up, but I couldn't care less about the duo within. Meanwhile I'm totally invested into Pearl's possessive, obsessive, imbalanced and so messed up relationship with her diamond. That's probably a bad thing :D

I think it's just that I really liked Pearl y'know? And so I'm a lot more into just what that relationship did to her.

I should like Korrasami more but it's kind of annoying how comics only it was. Sure there was some stuff like in the desert before the final handholding to black, but it desperately needed more.

The confirmation that Lyra and Bonbon married in the MLP finale did bring a tear to my eye, but then I can see a case of that being the show's last nod to their unexpected non-target audience fandom that I thought was super sweet, and very much appreciated.

Charlie and Vaggie felt a tad too much like the Harley and Ivy show dynamic for me, and I'm not super keen on that show's version of Ivy who is barely the same character that I grew up with in TaS and the comics.
