Are there any Doctor Who fans here? If there are, I'm guessing that you started watching Doctor Who at some point in the new series, instead of starting out with the classic series before the new series even started like me.

Yeah, huge fan here.

Like you, I started watching during the new series.

Though, like me, have you back tracked and watched any of the older Doctors?
Sorry, I don't think I worded it very well, but I became a fan before the new series began. But yeah, after the new series began, I went back and watched classic stories that I hadn't watched before, and so the new series practically re-ignited my love for the show.

I haven't seen the series, but it looks pretty interesting from what I can tell for Science Fiction. I hate how a lot of the older episodes are gone forever thanks to BBC (106 to be precise), but it still looks like something I could get into and I hear about it a lot from other fans of the show on the internet.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they won't find many more of the missing episodes. In the last ten years, they've only found three episodes. I doubt any more will be rediscovered in my lifetime.

Love it! Started being a fan watching my Grandma's VHS's back in the late 90's. Matt Smith is great at the moment, but I have to say that McCoy and Eccleston are my favourite doctors. Anyone else here a member of Gallifrey Base? The bitchiest Doctor Who message board in the universe?

I post on Gallifrey Base from time to time.

It just gets a bit boring when there are like five threads about the new TARDIS interior.

That's true. And the fact that people can be so childish on there sometimes. I think about re-joining, but no, as far as forums go I'm happy here. Goodbye Tupenny Butterquims, hello Banjo.

Anyway, anyone else like The Snowmen?

I post on Gallifrey Base for some inexplicable season. And yes I loved The Snowmen, Clara is fascinating me already and a really fun character to boot, Matt continues to be my favourite Doctor with a string of performances and Strax was funny.

I'm also a fan. Very interested to see how the new season plays out.
Also cloneasaurus...get out.

The Snowmen was honestly the best story I've seen for a long time. The best Christmas Special since Voyage of the Damned, and probably the best Christmas Special ever, to be honest.

Been a fan since 85, Colin Baker is my favourite Doctor, Revelation of the Daleks is my all time fave story.

Thought the RTD era was crap, and really hated the 10th Doctor and Rose.

Much prefer the Moffat era and Matt's Doctor, Vincent and the Doctor is my fave Nu-Who ep so far.

I've sort of gotten mildly into it recently, ever since attending a Doctor Who fan panel at a convention in October with a friend (who is a huge Whovian). I've seen the first few episodes of the 2005 series on Netflix. It's not bad, a little cheesy but fun. I like Chris Eccleston, shame that he's only in one season.

I like the RTD era, but I just hate Series 2, 3 and the specials. But Series 1 and 4 were brilliant, and that's where my opinion on the RTD era came from. I hate David Tennant though.

It gets better and less cheesy after the first episode. The Empty Child two-parter being a particular highlight.

4 is probably the best Tennant season, but imo all of his were a mixture of the brilliant and the absolutely awful. The first season with Eccleston was fantastic though

Massive Doctor Who fan (Well, New Who. I've only seen a few episodes of the old series). I prefer Moffat to RTD for a variety of reasons although I'll concede the Riversong arc grew way too convoluted. Also much prefer Matt Smith to Tennant and Ecclestone was in too few episodes to judge.

Favourite episodes: Blink, Van Gogh one

I agree with everything you said, though I would swap the Van Gogh episode for The Power of Three.

I'm really looking forward to the new Matt Smith era, as well as the 50th anniversary.

I really wish Paul McGann got to do a couple of seasons, don't mind the TV Movie and I much prefer the 8th Doctor to the 9th or 10th Doctors.

So I finally got around to seeing Shada for the first time ever and it was crap, not a loss it was never finished and broadcast.
