Breaking Bad

pasting my "who in the fuck cares" kind of ruins your point when you so obviously do

but once again, if this is a toy aimed at children who play with toys (so, age 7ish and under?) then it really does have no business existing. if it's some kind of collectible aimed at adults, then a toys r us isn't really the right place for it anyway. imagine the toy was some generic "meth cook" toy. would anyone have given the slightest fuck that people wanted it pulled? nobody would have even heard about it and if they did they'd likely agree with it. but breaking bad fans are so pathetic and defensive that this is suddenly a big deal

The article isn't great but my point is that toys r us are hypocrites considering they sell other adult figures that are similarly "mature" in content but take down the bb ones just because some people complain.

Yeah, I thought the lady overreacted, but I can at least see how her side makes more sense in keeping it away from children and the "adult" fans come off as really whiny and petty, where I'm guessing there's a million other places to get similar bb merchandise

Well you clearly care quite a bit too so by that logic it defeats your point too.

even if me posting about it somehow translated to me caring (which it doesn't), you could only claim that i care about the stupid backlash, not about the original thing that triggered it

Yes generalize a whole fanbase of people because some bb fans don't share your views on this.

and that article just helps illustrate my point, so thanks. if people had just said "wow that's kind of bullshit" and moved on, i'd have no issue with it. but people actually spending time on this and getting seriously invested in it is so fucking pathetic that i'm not sure i can fully express it with words. and i was already starting to view breaking bad fans as deluded turds who have to plug their ears at any criticism of their precious little show - this whole thing just cements it. and i like breaking bad too, but it seriously is starting to seem like it will go down as the "great tv show" for the dumb masses. a gaggle of mouth-breathers who stopped watching the sopranos because there weren't enough murders

i obviously don't mean that describes every breaking bad fan (especially since i count myself among them) just a large enough and unfortunately loud enough group of them that they're defining the fanbase

who in the universe wants breaking bad toys. that's gotta be some weird niche market and i doubt they sell, unless i've lost my way or something and breaking bad toys are now 'the thing to buy' for some reason

The Walking Dead is among one of the other dramas you enjoy and watch so I think your opinion on dramas should be taken with a grain of salt.

and I don't believe most Breaking Bad fans are defensive against criticism. Sure there are the odd ones who are, but you get that in every fandom. You just use that as an insult towards fans who don't agree with your views on the show. I thought the last couple seasons were a decline in quality (5a and 5b) and actually disliked a few episodes in the last season because I think they wrote the characters stupidly and the pacing was bad and rushed. The finale was a little too perfect for my liking too.

um, i don't like walking dead either but...

sounds like that's exactly what you're doing right now

Breaking Bad toys must be destroyed. I know one kid who burnt down his house, shot his teacher and three police officers and then shouted out loud "Yeah, bitch! Magnets!". All of this could've been avoided if he hadn't seen a Walt toy in a store window.

considering that nobody here has come close to stating something along these line, this is a strawman. i've said i think the people who protested the toys were "overreacting" and "misguided" so i'm hardly defending their position. i've only said that i think the backlash against a toy store pulling some fucking toys off their shelves has been rather ridiculously overblown and wouldn't exist if it wasn't tied to breaking bad

and nice try attempting to invalidate my opinions (isn't that what you whine about me supposedly trying to do?) on television based on me watching the walking dead, but i've said that the show is pretty bad but that i just like watching it anyway. mostly because i've read the comics. so again, pretending i've held that show up as some kind of example of great television is a completely disingenuous strawman position

So most of the Breaking Bad fans are under consensus that Gus was either bi or gay and Max was his lover, right? I know it's up for interpretation according to Vince, but most people saw it that way I believe.
