For, lo, the winter is past,
The rain is over and gone;
The flowers appear on the earth;
The time of the singing of birds is come,
And the voice of the turtle is heard in our land.

according to foxsports.com, the angels are the 12th best team in baseball, behind the blue jays even, going into the regular season. furthermore, not one of the top five most overrated players is on the yankees or red sox. however, jason bay is.

god, i missed baseball.

Oh, this is even better. Courtesy Yahoo! Sports:

The Mariners will win the division because:
Quote:
The Mariners traded for Erik Bedard and signed Carlos Silva, dramatically improving an already solid starting rotation.
That "already solid starting rotation" was 27th in baseball last year in ERA, with a losing record (59-62). People should be fired for being that far off base.

Also, the Angels will only win 88 games, and are a worse team than they were last year. Clearly Orlando Cabrera's mediocre bat will be impossible to replace, and getting a #3 starter in exchange will hurt. As will adding 25-30 home runs to the lineup with Hunter.

i refuse to go to games when my team sucks so i won't be seeing any white sox games this year. seeing live sports is expensive anyway i don't feel like handing my cash over to watch a mediocre team lose.

i'll still be watching in agony everyday through my tv screen though.

ERA is a pretty stat-head free stat, chief.

the mariners' rotation was arguably the worst in baseball last year. calling them 'already solid' is like saying the giants added aaron rowand to an 'already solid lineup.'
