£12.97 is still cheaper than what Series 12 is being sold for now, albeit only by £1.

When/if they rerelease this, I'm hoping the theme if just Simpsons in general, and the booklet is a parody of the guides.

Does this even have that little introductory letter thing that Matt Greoning usually writes for the Episode Booklet?

No it doesn't. It has the booklet cover, then inside it has silhouettes of the family watching fireworks, with the second page merely having a quick Homer quote regarding television (taken from a classic era episode, I forget which). After that it's just the standard one page per episode thing.

Wow, this really does have no redeemable qualities.

on the chance they DON'T rerelease this in a few years (with features), how many of you (Who don't have a copy) would buy this? I've been considering purchasing it every now and then but I keep thinking about the chance of the rerelease (I think they will, but that's just it; i THINK they will, I don't know for sure of course), and how I'd be pissed if they did and I'd probably have to rebuy it for the features. But if they DON'T rerelease, then I'd probably buy this DVD that's out. I still don't like the season a lot but I'm a completist at heart. I just would obviously like features. So, if they didn't rerelease it, how many people who don't have the copy out would buy it, knowing that it has no features or anything, just the episodes.

edit. by "No features" i mean no GOOD features (as we all know it has a preview of the 3D special, which aired months ago, so it's pointless)

If they never rerelease this set (in either 4 years, 7 years, or sometime in between), I guess I'd pick this up, but it would have to be about $10 for me to do that.

I was in the same line of thought as you bubbles when it was first released. I just bought it, because A. - It's cheap now, and B. - I liked this season. If they do re release it, I'll just buy it again.

The fact that the current underwhelming S20 box set was not released in Region 2 when all the other sets were says to me that they'll be rereleasing this when it's time to do so. They're not going to just have that whole region go without a season on DVD like that.

I'll be iffy enough if it comes out in a few years with the usual features, so there's absolutely no chance I'm buying this version.

Thumbs Down

HA! So I bought the $10 season 20 off ebay and it is... a bootleg!

Not only did I buy a shitty DVD set, but I bought a fake shitty DVD set. The telling signs were: Homer's beard was yellow on the outer spine and marge had white pearls, the real DVD has Homer's brown beard and marge with red pearls. The case and booklet looked like it went through a high quality scanner and the booklet was stapled out of order. Also the discs were badly printed.

Sellers name is volpscom. Beware this a-hole.

If by some odd chance of luck S20's Blu Ray appears at the local thrift store for a 2 dollars, I'd actually buy it.

Well to be fair, the box itself does say "The Complete 20th Season", and technically it is correct - all the original episodes are there. "Complete" does not necessitate special features to be correct.

As requested, Season 20 bootleg pics! It's funny how hard they tried to make it convincing. All the die cuts are there, the sleeve is transparent, the booklet is intact (though was bound out of order). The two major telling facts which I can't share in image form was that the discs were region free and that the thing STINKS. Like seriously, it smells like cheap plastic and printers ink. If anybody knows the smell of a cheap DVD package, they'll know what I'm talking about.

The real one has an inner drop shadow printed within the text:

Clearly scanned and printed. the little specs are dust and tiny hairs from the scanner image:

Nasty brown glue holds the back paper on:

Spine has homer with a yellow beard and marge's pearls are the wrong color:

Anyway, I reported the SOB.

I think it is because he is so quick to offer a refund. Refund = no need to give a negative rating.

I think the bootleg might be worth more than the official set. While the official set is nice, it looks like he really went all out on the bootleg. You should really consider it more of a gift to you.

I am reminded of a witty dialogue from Futurama:

Fry: There must be some way I can stop this wedding. What if I steal the wedding ring.

Bender: Already taken care of. [Bender displays a diamond ring on his finger]

Fry: You think that'll be enough to stop the ceremony.

Bender: Nope. I pulled the old switcheroo, so they won't even know the difference. Wait a minute, I think the copy I made cost more than this.

Fry: Cheap lousy Lars.

Bender: [examining the ring through a jeweler's loupe] Actually this is extremely nice, but I really went all out on the copy. It was sorta my gift to them.
